7 things we love afternoon tea receptions

They’re sociable…

Your afternoon tea is served on sharing cake stand, placed in the centre of your table. You’ll find yourself chatting, passing the goodies around and comparing notes on your favourite delights. You won’t have to worry about the food getting cold or wait for the next course to come out either- meaning you can enjoy each and every bite along with good conversation at your own pace.

They’re pretty…

When it comes to stylish and attractive wedding food, the afternoon tea is hard to beat. Dainty triangle sandwiches with delicious fillings, delicate cakes and pastries, each with their own pretty features. Of course, there’s also the gorgeous crockery that can accompany your afternoon tea too, from traditional white china to decorative vintage.

They’re kind to your pocket…

If you’re on a tight budget, an afternoon tea is a great option. Starting at just £14 per person, your catering can be provided at a snip of the price of more traditional wedding food. What’s more, our prices include your food, china hire, linen hire, cutlery hire and service, meaning all you need to worry about is enjoying your day.

They have a degree of flexibility…

While some catering options such as barbecues and hog roasts have a limited menu and can be weather dependent, our afternoon tea can be tailored exactly to your tastes and enjoyed come rain or shine. We have three standard menus to choose from, ranging from £14 per person to £20 per person, and are happy to adapt any of the menus to suit your tastes and dietary needs. So whether you’re looking for something simple - like egg and cress sandwiches, savoury tartlets and scones, or something more extravagant - like a range of luxurious sandwiches and savoury delights and a number of mouth watering sweets, the choice is yours.

They add to your wedding styling and theme…

If you’ve opted for a rustic, country garden or vintage theme, an afternoon tea can be the perfect accompaniment. Not only will the delicious menu help to give your guests a real feel of your day, it will also add to your reception décor – reducing the need to spend a fortune on props and centrepieces.

How many times have you gone for a cream tea at lunchtime and left completely satisfied? Add to that a whole host of sandwiches, cakes as well as sweet and savoury bites and you’ve got a Chipping Norton Tea Set menu.
