The sun’s been shining, the summer festivals have begun and the wedding season is in full swing…
We’ve got to admit our summer has been pretty great so far. It began with the hugely successful Chipping Norton Literary Festival, back at the end of April, where we sponsored one of the events ‘In conversation with India Knight & Gill Hornby’. It was a real privilege to be involved – and we not only got to listen to this fascinating duo, we also got to serve up tea and cake to everyone who came along.
A very vintage wedding
Of course, another big part of our summer antics has been serving up scrumptious afternoon teas at beautiful weddings. We love a good wedding here at the Chipping Norton Tea Set, and this year our wedding season kicked off in May. We were delighted to be involved in the lovely Kate and Matt’s wedding day at Great Barrington. It was quite a celebration with 100 to cater for, but a great way for us to prepare for all our summer events ahead.
From one style of wedding to another, we next found ourselves in Nueaton at the fabulous country estate, Arbury Estate. The marquee’s décor was stunning, very village fete and in trend with haybales, bunting, trestle tables and wild flowers.
By June we were serving up canapés and our afternoon tea at Greenhills Gallery for Jodie and Eddie’s wedding. Again, it was lovely to be part of another big wedding and to get a bit creative in the kitchen with our canapés!
Drinks and canapés anyone?
Following the success of our drinks and canapés at our latest events, we’ve been asked to provide this service more and more – and we’re definitely not complaining about it! Since June’s wedding we’ve served up the drinks and canapés package another four times and we’re really excited to be offering it as an addition to out tea party business. It enables us to provide the full wedding package. You can have savoury bites taking you through from wedding ceremony to your wedding breakfast, and then tiers of sweet and savoury delights to satisfy wedding guests right through into the night.
Getting crafty at the Fibre Festival
Weddings haven’t been the only thing on our mind the last few weeks though, we’ve also had the opportunity to get involved in some fab local events. One of our favourites has to be the pop up tea room we ran for the annual Fibre Festival which celebrates all things crafty. The atmosphere was buzzing – even the local sheep and lambs were out and about to celebrate the occasion! We also learnt a thing or two about knitting and weaving, which we’ll definitely be putting into practise over the winter months. Of course, our pop up tea room delights wouldn’t have been complete without our sheep cupcakes and biscuits – perfect for the spirit of the day.
It’s time to get back to the kitchen now though to prep for our next event….
