The days may be colder and wedding celebrations may be on the decline but we’re still keeping busy here at Tea Set Towers with the festivities of autumn and the winter months ahead.
The last of the weddings
At the end of September we said goodbye to wedding season with our last two weddings – which took place on the same day! As always though, the celebrations were completely unique. Matt and Leanne enjoyed their special day in a very stylish marquee in the stunning location of Chalfont St Giles. The views were enviable and spacious surrounding made for a superb celebration. Our other couple, Sarah and Ben, enjoyed a more intimate affair at the pretty village hall at Wythall, where our afternoon tea went down a real treat!
Mouth-watering delights for all
With weddings done for the year, hen parties have begun to kick in for brides-to-be who’ve planned a seasonal big-day, or early 2015 nuptials. Our hen parties have taken us to Stroud and Bampton during October and have been a delightful addition to the birthdays and other special occasions we’ve had the pleasure of being involved in. A couple of our autumnal highlights so far include the pop up tea room at the gorgeous Poundon House wedding fair, and a special birthday at Weir Cottage. The chosen birthday meal was our scrumptious cold buffet that included dressed salmon, salads, quiches, cupcakes and not one, but three delicious banoffee pies!
Fabulous new services available to one and all
While we’ve not quite had time to put up our feet for the year, we have had some time to do that all-important planning for the year ahead. We’ve had a record number of sample wedding tea tastings this October, five in fact! It’s been so lovely to meet with each and every one of our couples and helping them to decide on their tasty wedding day menu. We’ve also been busy bees updating our website with our newest services including china hire and our canapé service – enlisting the help of hugely talented Cristina Colli, who took some amazing images, and our creative wordsmith, Sophie Smith, the Tea Set Towers copywriter.
Time for tea
To celebrate the success of the summer we got the team together for our annual staff outing for … you’ve guessed it, afternoon tea! This year we chose to celebrate at The Slaughters Inn at Lower Slaughter and they really looked after us. So, what was on the menu I hear you ask? Well, of course we had the obligatory bottle of fizz – to share I might add – alongside scrumptious sandwiches, scones that were baked to perfection and a very tasty cake selection. The get-together was a wonderful way to round off the season, as there really is nothing nicer after a summer of serving than to have afternoon tea served to us!
