Saying goodbye to sun filled weddings and al fresco celebrations

You know it’s the height of the summer wedding season when you’re catering for a number of beautiful celebrations every single week. This August was no different, as we found ourselves catering for six wonderful wedding days across the region.

Style me pretty

As always, the weddings shared that pretty, vintage vibe, but each and every one of the weddings were infused with personal touches and the personalities of our fantastic couples.

Our first wedding in August was in Kings Sutton and was an Anglo/French celebration, filled with super stylish touches. Demelza, the lovely bride married the very suave Franck. The room was very pink and girlie, styled with lots of balloons and featured knitted bow ties for every glass.

Next, we were at the gorgeous Guildhall in Henley-in-Arden for Claire and Sean’s special day. The couple enjoyed a drinks reception in the glorious Jubilee Garden, before tucking into our afternoon tea under canvas in the walled garden. We were lucky enough to provide a variety of sumptuous delights for this couple’s big day – including the increasingly popular naked wedding cake, along with some pretty Chipping Norton Tea Set cupcakes.

DIY style

The following day we found ourselves in demand, providing catering for not one, but two wedding celebrations. Luckily for us, one just required a drop off of goods as the wedding was an intimate do for just 13 guests. Our main event was Martyn and Fiona’s handmade DIY inspired wedding celebration at Eathorpe’s Village Hall. The hall was beautifully decorated with bunting and trestle tables, creating a real party feel. This wasn’t the only village hall celebration we catered for in august either, we also found ourselves in the spacious Hatton Village Hall at the end of the month for Sarah and Rob’s wedding celebrations. Sarah and Rob were another couple who’d gone all out with their venue décor – they even had a tree in the reception room!

A rustic romance

Of course, the summer wedding months aren’t complete without a beautiful barn wedding – one of our personal favourites. This august, we catered for Jenny and Gareth at the delightful Fison Barn near Abingdon. The Chipping Norton Tea Set team served drinks in the courtyard of the barn and the wedding party enjoyed their afternoon tea under beautiful beams decorated with bunting.

A real mix of celebrations

Mix in a stylish 90th birthday celebration, the Christening of baby May, a delightful naming ceremony in Wantage and a very intimate first birthday party for a family who we provided the baby shower tea for last year and  you’ve just about covered our special events diary for August. Not forgetting the routine hen parties and corporate lunch events we cater for every month of course… what a busy and fantastic way to end the summer!
